Death Café
After a two-month summer break, we will resume our regular Death Cafés on Wednesday, September 23. We invite everyone to explore all aspects of death and the process of dying. Which direction our gathering takes, the topics discussed, and the thoughts, feelings, concerns, fears, and joys that arise in our conversations depend on all of us who participate. We can share our thoughts in a safe environment; food and drinks will be served as a symbol that death, just like food, is a part of our lives. We are delighted to gather from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Casa Novo Bowing in Odemira. We thank the staff for providing us with such a beautiful space. Friday in Circles
This Friday, let’s dance in a circle! First, we’ll do some traditional circle dances, with our very own Marta Brandão leading us through the steps. The class starts at 6:30 p.m. and runs until 8:00 p.m. (5 euros per participant). A wonderful dinner at Café Nativa. Death Café
Casa Novo Bowing is hosting a new "Death Café," an open and informal gathering to talk about death and dying in a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment. A "Death Café" is not a lecture or a bereavement support group, although grief and emotions may naturally be shared. It is a space for free conversation, where questions, fears, curiosities, and reflections are met with attentive listening and a diversity of perspectives. Around the table, with hot tea, cake, and small snacks, a time for sharing is created. Conversation about Rural Heritage
CONVERSATION Next Sunday, March 15, starting at 3:00 p.m., the first conversation in a series dedicated to Rural Heritage topics will take place, organized by the Associação Escola do Monte da Estrada at its facilities. Admission is free. Our Forest: how to make it stronger and more profitable? An open conversation about the future of the forest and land in our region with landowners and about projects in the territory, sharing experiences and solutions. We will talk about: - How to make the forest more resistant to fires and droughts; - How to manage the land so that it is productive and profitable; - What species to plant and how to improve the land and store more water on the land;  - Real examples of projects in the field. Guests: - Sara Serrão (Remontado) - Lurdes Cardoso (Owner of Vale Juncal) - Nuno Mamede (Founder of Terracrua Design and the Institute for Regenerative Planning) - Hugo Tornelo (Owner) - Francisco Sousa (Mossy Earth Portugal) Moderated by Leonor Pires (landscape architect) CONCERT Following the conversation, there will be a concert by sound artist Anja Monden.
