Co-founder of the Lisbon-based collective label Cafetra, she was also co-leader of Pega Monstro alongside her sister Júlia Reis; the band’s indefinite hiatus paved the way for a prolific solo career. “Estagnação,” “Teoria da Conspiração,” “Balúrdio,” and “Elefante na Sala” are some of the tracks in which she explores language in a feminine, honest, and raw way, set to simple and direct rock songs. Be part of a new choir in ALENTEJO! ⠀ Imagine a choir combining festival vibes, parties and electronic music, performing right on the dance floor. ⠀ The body isn’t fully singing until the voice joins in. Floor Chor wants to encourage you to free your voice, not think too much about how it sounds, but really focus on how it feels. ⠀ This October, we’re planting the first seeds of Floor Chor Alentejo. ⠀ We will have 5 rehearsals where we sing, dance, improvise and build a repertoire together. Afterwards, we’ll throw a party, invite our friends and perform what we have learned. ⠀ But the vision goes beyond these first rehearsals. We want to keep coming together for intensive choir weeks and retreats, deepen our repertoire, build a community and then take the choir to parties, festivals and Burns around Portugal. Flamingo, Goat Festival... anything is possible. ⠀ And this isn’t completely new. Floor Chor started in Cologne, Germany, where we are now around 100 singers and have performed at festivals and clubs across Germany. Be part of a new choir in ALENTEJO! ⠀ Imagine a choir combining festival vibes, parties and electronic music, performing right on the dance floor. ⠀ The body isn’t fully singing until the voice joins in. Floor Chor wants to encourage you to free your voice, not think too much about how it sounds, but really focus on how it feels. ⠀ This October, we’re planting the first seeds of Floor Chor Alentejo. ⠀ We will have 5 rehearsals where we sing, dance, improvise and build a repertoire together. Afterwards, we’ll throw a party, invite our friends and perform what we have learned. ⠀ But the vision goes beyond these first rehearsals. We want to keep coming together for intensive choir weeks and retreats, deepen our repertoire, build a community and then take the choir to parties, festivals and Burns around Portugal. Flamingo, Goat Festival... anything is possible. ⠀ And this isn’t completely new. Floor Chor started in Cologne, Germany, where we are now around 100 singers and have performed at festivals and clubs across Germany. Castro Fair 2026 The tradition returns on October 16, 17, and 18! The Castro Fair, one of the most iconic traditional fairs in southern Portugal and one of the main occasions for people to gather and socialize in Castro Verde, is back on October 16, 17, and 18. For three days, the town welcomes thousands of visitors to a celebration blending tradition, commerce, culture, and entertainment. Alongside the fair’s own vibrant atmosphere, the Castro Verde City Council has prepared a cultural program showcasing various expressions of Alentejo culture, featuring music, exhibitions, traditional singing, folklore, the viola campaniça, and street entertainment. The program kicks off on Friday, October 16, starting at 6:00 p.m., with the opening, at the Municipal Forum, of the painting exhibition “Retrospectivas” by Eduardo Palminha. At the same time, on Rua da Seara Nova, the photography exhibition “O Cante na Rua” by Adalrich Malzbender—dedicated to Alentejo folk singing—will open, and the Local Products and Handicrafts Market will also open on Rua Fialho de Almeida. The first night will feature music at Praça da República, with Lena d’Água taking the stage at 10:00 p.m. and 90’s Noventamente at 11:30 p.m. On Saturday, the 17th, the Fair begins with the Bird Fair, starting at 10:00 a.m. at the Exhibition Pavilion in Largo da Feira, organized by the Castro Verde Ornithological Club. At 10:30 a.m., the streets of the Fair will host a Street Parade of Bands, featuring the Banda Filarmónica Sociedade Recreativa 1.º de Janeiro and the Banda Filarmónica de Serpa, followed throughout the day by various moments of entertainment, music, and tradition. Of particular note is the 7th Gathering of Castro Verde Natives in the Diaspora, which takes place starting at 12:30 p.m. at the Castro Verde High School and brings together, for a, military personnel residing outside the municipality for a moment of reunion, sharing, and fellowship. Castro Fair 2026 The tradition returns on October 16, 17, and 18! The Castro Fair, one of the most iconic traditional fairs in southern Portugal and one of the main occasions for people to gather and socialize in Castro Verde, is back on October 16, 17, and 18. For three days, the town welcomes thousands of visitors to a celebration blending tradition, commerce, culture, and entertainment. Alongside the fair’s own vibrant atmosphere, the Castro Verde City Council has prepared a cultural program showcasing various expressions of Alentejo culture, featuring music, exhibitions, traditional singing, folklore, the viola campaniça, and street entertainment. The program kicks off on Friday, October 16, starting at 6:00 p.m., with the opening, at the Municipal Forum, of the painting exhibition “Retrospectivas” by Eduardo Palminha. At the same time, on Rua da Seara Nova, the photography exhibition “O Cante na Rua” by Adalrich Malzbender—dedicated to Alentejo folk singing—will open, and the Local Products and Handicrafts Market will also open on Rua Fialho de Almeida. The first night will feature music at Praça da República, with Lena d’Água taking the stage at 10:00 p.m. and 90’s Noventamente at 11:30 p.m. On Saturday, the 17th, the Fair begins with the Bird Fair, starting at 10:00 a.m. at the Exhibition Pavilion in Largo da Feira, organized by the Castro Verde Ornithological Club. Be part of a new choir in ALENTEJO! ⠀ Imagine a choir combining festival vibes, parties and electronic music, performing right on the dance floor. ⠀ The body isn’t fully singing until the voice joins in. Floor Chor wants to encourage you to free your voice, not think too much about how it sounds, but really focus on how it feels. ⠀ This October, we’re planting the first seeds of Floor Chor Alentejo. ⠀ We will have 5 rehearsals where we sing, dance, improvise and build a repertoire together. Afterwards, we’ll throw a party, invite our friends and perform what we have learned. ⠀ But the vision goes beyond these first rehearsals. We want to keep coming together for intensive choir weeks and retreats, deepen our repertoire, build a community and then take the choir to parties, festivals and Burns around Portugal. Flamingo, Goat Festival... anything is possible. ⠀ And this isn’t completely new. Floor Chor started in Cologne, Germany, where we are now around 100 singers and have performed at festivals and clubs across Germany. 🆕 Matias Damásio, d.a.m.a, Buba Espinho, Bandidos do Cante, and Descendentes at the 17th Mértola Hunting Fair, which is debuting at a new location. The 17th Mértola Hunting Fair returns October 23–25, 2026, with a stellar musical lineup and a revamped visitor experience. Big names in Portuguese and Portuguese-speaking music will perform in the municipality as part of a cultural program designed to attract diverse audiences and celebrate Alentejo’s identity, presenting unique moments of fusion where urban pop intersects directly with Cante Alentejano. Major concerts highlight the event’s program and kick off on Friday night, October 23, at 10:30 p.m., with the romantic sounds of Matias Damásio. On Saturday, October 24, also at 10:30 p.m., d.a.m.a will take the stage, joined by Buba Espinho and the Bandidos do Cante for a unique show that blends contemporary sounds with the voices and deep roots of Alentejo’s cultural heritage. The cultural program concludes on October 25 at 5:00 p.m. with a performance by the group Descendentes. The big news for this edition is the strategic move to the Municipal Sports and Recreation Park, with the goal of modernizing the event and improving the flow of the visitor experience, harmoniously connecting the performance areas, exhibition zones, and food service areas to provide a comfortable, immersive experience with improved accessibility.
