    "Legends of Sines" Workshop

"Hello! We are Ficha Tripla, an artistic collective made up of Filipa, Rita, and Sofia. We’re looking for people (ages 16 and up) to help us create a legend. You don’t need to know how to write or tell stories. Just bring your curiosity, your memories, and a willingness to imagine with us. In the end, the narrative we create will inspire a performance and a film that Ficha Tripla is developing during its artist residency at Teatro do Mar. The result will be presented at m.a.r. – Mostra de Artes de Rua, this coming September. Can we count on you? “Ficha Tripla” Community engagement carried out as part of Teatro do Mar’s Artist-in-Residence program, through our Support Program for Artistic Creation in Public Spaces. The workshop is led by the Ficha Tripla collective

    July's EmCena performance

❗Change to the July EmCena performance Please be advised that the July performance of the EmCena series, as announced in the “Sines em Agenda” publication, has been changed due to the illness of a member of the Teatro dos Aloés team. Therefore, instead of “My Sweet Orange Tree,” Teatro dos Aloés will present the play “A Camaleoa” at the Sines Arts Center on July 9 at 9:30 p.m. Directed by Elsa Valentim, this new production by the company features a script by Carolina Campanela that explores power dynamics through the daily life of a theater troupe. Synopsis: “César decides to stage *Julius Caesar*. But, just as in the Roman Republic, power corrodes relationships here as well. As rehearsals progress, discontent blossoms: actors who want to be more than just actors, interns who refuse to remain invisible. Everyone is seeking their place in the sun. They legitimately risk climbing the ladder and succeeding in a profession built on dedication, yet marked by precariousness and the promise of recognition. But what, after all, lies at the top of those promises? And is there really a top, or is it just an endless matryoshka doll with ever-increasing layers?" The EmCena festival is organized by the Ajagato Association, in partnership with the municipalities of Sines and Santiago do Cacém

Performances / Shows Teatro do Mar Educational Program Can I Say Something? June 26, 9:30 p.m. Sines Arts Center Synopsis: There is an invisible thread that brings us together. A gesture. A glance. A touch. A handkerchief shared between different hands. In *Can I Say Something?*, young people from the Cersiciago institution and teenagers from the Theater Workshops come together in a space where the body speaks before words, where glances meet and connect us. Amid movements, encounters, and small everyday celebrations, a journey emerges about what we lack—and about how others complete us. The handkerchief emerges as a symbol of this invisible connection: a piece of fabric that unites, welcomes, guides, and transforms. It passes from body to body as if carrying memories, affection, and the deep need to belong to one another. In a performance built on the simplicity of movement, presence, and human connection, differences are celebrated not as distance, but as an opportunity for encounter. Because, regardless of our characteristics, there is something that runs through us all: the desire to love, to be seen, and to be part of the same dance. “Can I Say Something?” is an invitation to listen, to share, and to discover what truly connects us. Theater: 'Auto das Anfitriãs', by Inês Vaz and Pedro Baptista, from Luís de Camões

Cas - Auditorium | m/12 | Dur. 1h | Performance as part of Próxima Cena, an initiative of the Teatro Nacional d. Maria ii and the 'la Caixa' Foundation, in collaboration with the bpi November 21, 9:30 p.m.: For the general public (free if you pick up a ticket) One thousand five hundred and change. Camões wrote the "Auto chamado dos Enfatriões". Of the three plays he wrote, this was the only one to be inspired by a theater text from Roman times: the famous "Amphitryon" by Plautus. "Auto das Anfitriãs" is one of many derivations. A possibility ready to commemorate the 500th anniversary of Camões' birth, without knowing for sure whether or not it's the right date to do so... It's a play of doudos, full of confusions, which, given the anniversary, appears as a celebration, a concert and a fair of deceit, seeking to question some of the foundations of today and dancing to the sound of the zeitgeist of the 21st century. Performed by Cire Ndiaye, Inês Vaz, João Grosso and José Neves. Special participation by Tita Maravilha.
