Have you ever imagined dyeing fabrics using only leaves, roots, and fruits? 🌿 We’re joining Sara Florindo for an afternoon of discovery: we’ll prepare the fibers through mordanting and explore Shibori — the art of folding, twisting, and tying fabrics to create unique and one-of-a-kind designs. Sara is an architect with a background in education who has always been passionate about textile art. She taught herself to sew and, for about 8 years, has dedicated herself to sewing, patternmaking, and natural dyeing. Along the way, she realized that this world has its roots in the history of the women in her family—her grandmothers and great-grandmothers who worked with linen from Beira Alta, from the fields to the loom. This knowledge wasn’t passed down to her directly, but Sara set out to rediscover it and breathe new life into it in her workshops. This is an alchemical journey into local plants and fabrics, where chemistry, creativity, and nature come together. 🍂🧡 📍 Free admission; advance registration required by sending a message to 932418405 Come dye your own piece of nature! 🌾💛

In his workshops, he shares not only woodcarving techniques but also a sensitive approach to hands-on creation, inviting each participant to slow down, feel, and create with mindfulness. From Conflict to Connection

Struggling with navigating conflicts constructively? … balancing your own needs with those of others during disagreements? Do you avoid difficult conversations out of fear of making things worse? Or, notice them escalating into unproductive arguments or power struggles? … fighting to be ‘right’ and repeating patterns of attack & defend; demand & rebel; anger & shame? Do you ever feel overwhelmed by emotions in a conflict? … tired of unresolved tensions?…stuck in the blame game?…when every word seems to be digging a deeper hole in your connection? You’re not alone… Conflict is an inevitable part of our lives! However, instead of viewing conflict as something to avoid or to win, it can be embraced as an opportunity for deeper understanding, trust and care. In this training, we explore how to transform tension and conflict into more authentic connection and powerful learning experiences, enabling us to care for what matters to everyone involved. We will learn and practice several options for responding to any kind of interpersonal tension. Each aims to restore peace and goodwill and to support transformation, learning and productive forward action. The practices range from least to most human resources (time, people, energy, attention, etc) required, and so provide a simple ‘Menu’ to choose from in the moments when we can’t think straight. We practice and integrate the teachings through individual and group exercises, games and processes. We Explore: - The dynamics of conflict: Understand the underlying causes of conflict and why it can be so challenging to engage with. - The 4 habitual conflict styles: Identify and transform your default responses to conflict, whether its avoidance, confrontation, accommodating or passive aggressive. - Support systems: Create and utilise systems that cultivate ongoing well-being, mutual understanding and growth. - Transformative communication strategies: Shift from defensive reactions to open, constructive dialogues. - Collaborative problem-solving: Navigate your needs and others’ needs to find balanced, effective solutions. - (Re)build trust and connection: Dissolve enemy images and bring compassion, understanding and care even in the midst of disagreement. - Supporting others in conflict: Gain insights on how to help others navigate their conflicts while maintaining ‘omnipartiality’ (supporting everyone involved). - Practical & versatile application: Engage in role-playing and real-life scenarios to learn how to apply these skills in personal relationships, professional settings and community groups. You Can Gain: - Tools for conflict engagement: A robust system for addressing and transforming interpersonal and group tensions. - Resilience in conflict: Remain present and constructive, even when faced with unmet needs and disagreements. - Deeper relationships: Use conflict as a way to deepen trust, connection and shared understanding. - Increased emotional intelligence: Recognize and engage productively with your emotions and those of others during conflicts. - Self-awareness: Understand your own triggers and patterns in conflicts to respond more consciously. - Conflict mastery: Deal with conflict and difficult relationships with more fluidity, confidence and trust. This training is designed to equip you with the skills needed to transform conflict into a pathway for understanding, growth and connection. Hope you join us to learn how to handle tension not as a barrier, but as a bridge to stronger, more resilient relationships. No previous experience required. This is 1 of 2 related training days over the weekend. These are part of a tour of independent, yet mutually supportive, training days spread over 2 months. • Communicate to Connect

    Passed · Sat, 16 May 2026

    Communicate to Connect

How many ‘stations’ on the following route have you recently visited? > JUDGMENT (Blame, Criticism) >> REACTIVITY (Triggers) >>> ANGER (Frustration, Resentment) >>>> CONFLICT (Inner or Outer) >>>>> SHAME (Guilt, Embarrassment) >>>>>> SADNESS, FEAR or other pains >>>>>>> more JUDGMENT …and so on Hopefully not too many, because this route leaves us and our relationships worn out and eventually broken beyond repair. There are alternative routes. In this training, we learn Nonviolent Communication (NVC) to lay the foundations for more authentic, connecting and effective pathways. For example: > Deeply connecting with yourself >> Knowing clearly how you feel & what you do & don’t want >>> Expressing that with courage, clarity & care >>>> Holding what comes up for them with as much care as what’s up for you >>>>> Your heart melting as you hear their feelings, desires or limits >>>>>> Exploring ways that all of your needs can be met, without guilt or compromise Nonviolent Communication (NVC) Also known as Compassionate Communication, NVC is both a collection of principles that support the development of a consciousness based on universal human values and needs, as well as a practical, learnable process that helps people connect more deeply with themselves and others. NVC helps connect us with what is alive in ourselves and in others moment-to-moment, with what we or others could do to make life more wonderful, and with an awareness of what gets in the way of natural giving and receiving. And, more than just a way of communicating, NVC is a path which can transform the quality of all our relationships (family, friends, colleagues…), as well as so many areas of our lives. These include making decisions & resolving conflicts effectively, transforming our patterns of thinking & emotions, increasing creativity, sharing power, and so much more. In this training, we learn the core principles and practices of this approach: to bring together honesty and kindness; compassion and accountability; individuality and connection… to be assertive and negotiable at the same time. We journey together in an experiential exploration of NVC, using individual and group processes, games, exercises, role-plays and meditations to integrate the teachings. We Explore: - Why we communicate: Understand the interconnectedness of communication, understanding and connection to help meet more needs for more people. - The roadblocks and detours of effective communication: Recognizing and transforming obstacles to connection like criticism, blame, guilt-tripping and coercion. - NVC from all angles: Exploring the multifaceted dimensions of NVC through diverse perspectives, varied approaches, practical applications and underlying intentions. - The power of observation: Establishing clarity and common ground by making non-evaluative observations. - The what and why of feelings: How our body sensations and emotions act as a feedback system, telling us whether or not our needs are being met. - The heart of the matter: See how our universal human needs are what motivate of all our actions and can move us from conflict to connection. - The consciousness of NVC: Behind the language of NVC, we introduce the consciousness on which it’s founded: the interdependence of human beings, the joy of natural giving, and the shift from ‘power over’ to ‘power with.’ You Can Gain: - A fresh perspective on communication: Understand how language shapes our consciousness and creates our world. - Re-conditioning: Uncover the language we’ve been conditioned to use, how it disconnects us and how we can translate it into language that encourages connection. - Internal clarity: Learn to identify, name, and connect with your emotions, values and longings in a healthy way. - Practical tools to immediately apply to your life: Bring more clarity, honesty and empathy to your interactions, so you can deal with conflict, difficult conversations and decisions with more fluidity, confidence and trust. - Steps toward peace: Develop your ability to transform your own and others judgement, blame and criticism into understanding, compassion and the peaceful resolution of conflict. - Strengthened relationships: Build trust and deep friendship through the practice of transparency and vulnerability. - Personal empowerment: Cultivate a sense of personal agency and empowerment in expressing your needs and requests. Join us for a day of interactive learning, self-discovery and skill-building. This training goes beyond traditional communication methods, offering a holistic approach that addresses the consciousness behind our words. Whether you’re looking to enhance personal relationships, navigate professional challenges, or simply communicate more authentically, this training provides valuable insights and practical tools. Be prepared for a day of deep exploration, connection and personal growth. No previous experience required. This is 1 of 2 related training days over the weekend. These are part of a tour of independent, yet mutually supportive, training days spread over 2 months. To discover all the training days, see www.donalgannon.com/myevents
