Friday in Circles
This Friday, let’s dance in a circle! First, we’ll do some traditional circle dances, with our very own Marta Brandão leading us through the steps. The class starts at 6:30 p.m. and runs until 8:00 p.m. (5 euros per participant). A wonderful dinner at Café Nativa. Then we’ll carry on into the night singing—singing lots—because there’ll be a break in August and we’re going to miss you all so much!!!!! See you soon

Native Family
Native Family is coming!!!! Admission is free. We invite Inês Faustino, a storyteller with the soul of a child, butterfly wings, and the sweet voice of a bird. Inês opens "Histórias com Vida Dentro" (Stories with Life Inside) and invites families with children up to 3 years old at 4:30 p.m. and older children (4 years and up) at 5:00 p.m. Will you come see the magic happen? Do you know OROTEA and the program Harmonizing the World of Children? At 5:30 p.m., an hour of recreation and fun for all ages begins. Starting at 5:00 p.m., Marrit and Rita will join hands to prepare vegetables for fermentation, which will then be used to enrich the café's dishes in the coming weeks! They invite you to come and join them in this activity. Dinner will be ready at 6:30 p.m., with lots of good food! For dinner, we will have some board games available, and we challenge you to bring those games you have at home waiting for this night of gaming!

Collective Listening: Smoke
Since the Oslo Accords in 1993, more than $50 billion has flowed into Palestine in the form of humanitarian and development aid. Thirty years later, what impact has this had and where has the money gone? What progress has this international support enabled in the resistance against the colonial project of the State of Israel? This series delves behind the scenes of the relationship between the international donor community, non-governmental organizations, civil society, and Palestinian governments. Today, we will listen to Episode 1 of this series as a group. Here is the synopsis: 01. Shadow State "The Jews were given Israel, and we were given UNRWA," said Palestinian politician Salah Salah. We visited Palestinian refugee camps in the West Bank and Lebanon to learn more about the role of one of the largest United Nations organizations—the agency created for Palestinian refugees—in their struggle for self-determination." Fumaça is an independent, non-profit investigative journalism podcast focused on scrutinizing systems of oppression and inequality. Two of Fumaça's journalists will accompany us on this day during the listening session, and at the end, we will open the floor for discussion. See you soon!!!
