🎭 “Les Beaux Rivages” | Theater in Santiago do Cacém On October 22, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Gato Sa – Teatro de Santo André will present the play “Les Beaux Rivages” at the António Chainho Municipal Auditorium, in Santiago do Cacém, the play “Les Beaux Rivages.” A story about love, memory, old age, and resilience, inviting us to reflect on what remains when time transforms our lives. Jel – “Quem te Viu e Quem te Vê” Tour in Santiago do Cacém The stage at the António Chainho Municipal Auditorium in Santiago do Cacém will host Jel on November 30 at 9:30 p.m., as part of the “Quem te Viu e Quem te Vê” tour, his latest stand-up comedy show. The first milestone marks Jel’s 30-year career, and the second celebrates the 20th anniversary of his most iconic show, “Vai Tudo Abaixo,” which introduced characters such as Carlinhos, the Gay Macho, Ruce, the drug-addicted entrepreneur, the “Homens da Luta,” the “Revolucionários Burgueses,” the war-themed heavy metal band Kalashnikov, and Wanderley, the Brazilian who hates Portugal, among others—characters who are still often remembered by his fans today. “Quem te viu e quem te vê,” his second stand-up comedy solo show, is a performance that commemorates these two milestones, but not only that—it also evokes the changes that have taken place in the world, the changes that have taken place in Portugal, and the changes that have taken place within Jel himself, who is now a different man from the one who, 20 or 30 years ago, began taking the stage and performing his comedy, always irreverent. In this show, we’ll hear never-before-told stories about the behind-the-scenes of “Vai Tudo Abaixo” and the beginning of his career, but we’ll also learn his opinions and observations on what has changed in the world over these 30 years and, above all, in his 50 years of life.”

Celina da Piedade is a composer, accordionist, and singer who has brought her creativity to a wide variety of contexts, ranging from traditional music to a more contemporary and universal style, drawing on the rich heritage of Cante Alentejano as well as the energy of folk and pop music. In 2021, she presents her fourth solo album, “Ao vivo na Casinha,” recorded at the legendary Xutos & Pontapés studio, filled with musical innovations as well as new versions of some of the most iconic songs in her repertoire. In the various stage formats she has come to be known for—whether performing solo, accompanied by her band, or with guests (such as Rodrigo Leão, Tim, Vitorino, Uxia, João Gil, among others), accompanied by choral groups or even in her very special concert format “Celina da Piedade e as Vozes do Cante,” she crafts music brimming with soul and personality, which, on stage, is enhanced by her formidable presence and sense of artistic sharing.

Friendship Is… – a dance performance by the Dançarita dance school

Presentation of the photo book “Fado, the Folk Song of the City of Lisbon” Featuring a performance by “Acordeão Fadista” May 16 | Saturday | 4:00 p.m. Synopsis: This book emerges from the intersection of the city, the photographer’s gaze, and the pulse of Lisbon’s song. It is the result of a collective process of creation, listening, and sharing, in which fado reveals itself as a living presence in constant transformation. This is not an exhaustive, historical, or academic approach, but rather an authorial journey in which each project participant encountered fado as it manifests itself in the city—in its spaces, objects, people, and memories. What we now present is an unfinished portrait—and for that very reason so true—of a Lisbon that, in its song, sings of pain, longing, love, and resistance. Helplessness, misunderstanding, insecurity, and vulnerability fill the void of a forgotten existence. Living on the street is the most extreme expression of exclusion. You die prematurely. You die of loneliness. “One Million +1” arises from the urgent need to fill the void of oblivion into which society pushes people experiencing homelessness. A Poetic and Visual Theater performance, without spoken text, where music and the intensity of the performance are the driving force of this dramaturgy.

Clown enano – enanociclos
Jan. 11 | Sunday | 16h00 | 50 min. | m6 Synopsis: If there is one circus technique that Enano has specialized in since his artistic career began, it is the Unicycle. Through it he has traveled to different countries, perfecting and researching different vehicles and creating this show in which he presents his wide range of vehicles. From the world's smallest bicycle "the Minicycle", to the Unicycle, the Giraffe (tall Unicycle) and the surprising "Tandem". It impresses the audience when it shows the giant Giraffe with three wheels and a height of two and a half meters, ending with an original and unique vehicle built in Portugal called the "Giraffe Isca Tuga", which even defies the law of gravity! A show full of imbalances, skills, participation and constant surprises! The talent of improvisation and the ability to provoke comic situations are the link between the different vehicles presented. The numbers presented are increasingly difficult as the performance progresses, and the tension increases, mixing technique with elegant, improvised humor.

Harmonia Choir, Harmonia Youth Choir and Bandalheira CANTA que é filme! - an off-stage choral show takes to the stage of the António Chainho Municipal Auditorium on December 20 at 21h00 and December 21 at 17h00. Cinema is art that was born to be seen, but also to be heard. The Harmonia choirs invite the public to revisit a little of the history of the 7th art through its soundtracks, unforgettable themes that have marked generations.
