Par le boudu
Boudu is an excessive, untameable and profoundly human character. He inhabits the margins, challenges conventions and moves through the world without asking permission, driven by desires, impulses and a logic of his own that does not always coincide with ours. Balancing rough humour, discomfort and tenderness, the performance takes us into a universe where laughter and unease walk hand in hand. What at first seems absurd reveals itself to be surprisingly familiar; what makes us laugh ultimately exposes vulnerabilities we recognise in ourselves. Created and performed by Bonaventure Gacon, “Par le Boudu” has become a landmark of contemporary circus.
