A play, written by Carolina Campanela and Carolina Serrão, that reflects the lives and concerns of young Portuguese women today.

Screening of the documentary winner of the “Voice of Women” Award – Porto Femme, Portugal’24, based on Margarida Tengarrinha’s autobiography *Memórias de uma Falsificadora – a Luta na Clandestinidade pela Liberdade em Portugal* (Memoirs of a Forger – The Underground Struggle for Freedom in Portugal). Followed by a conversation with the film’s director, Maria Mire, and historian Giulia Strippoli, moderated by journalist Catarina Marques Rodrigues.

    Literary Fall | Sung Short Stories

    On October 20, 2026, at 2:30 p.m., the event “Contos Cantados” will take place, featuring Carlos Marques/Trimagisto, at the headquarters of Sporting Futebol Clube Abelense, in Abela, as part of the “Literary Fall” initiative and the CLDS-5G project. “Sung Tales” is a staged concert that reflects more than 15 years of research by performer Carlos Marques as a storyteller. It is a project that collects tales and nursery rhymes from the older generation to pass on to the younger generation. The sung concert is available for performances in theaters, libraries, and educational institutions. In addition to the show, “Contos Cantados” is also an audiobook—recently awarded the National Illustration Prize—that brings together the music of Carlos Marques and the illustrations of André da Loba.     On October 17, at 4:00 p.m., at the Manuel da Fonseca Municipal Library in Santiago do Cacém, the award ceremony for the Manuel da Fonseca Short Story Prize —16th Edition—will be awarded to the work “A Building Where All Stories Fit,” written by Rita Coelho Teixeira Estanqueiro under the pseudonym Margarida Madruga. The Municipality of Santiago do Cacém has been organizing the Manuel da Fonseca Short Story Award since 1996.

    🎭 “Les Beaux Rivages” | Theater in Santiago do Cacém On October 22, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Gato Sa – Teatro de Santo André will present the play “Les Beaux Rivages” at the António Chainho Municipal Auditorium, in Santiago do Cacém, the play “Les Beaux Rivages.” A story about love, memory, old age, and resilience, inviting us to reflect on what remains when time transforms our lives.
